Indications:

• Management of bacterial conjunctivitis.​

Mechanism of Action:

Moxifloxacin in 4 Quin Eye Ointment inhibits bacterial enzymes DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are essential for DNA replication and transcription. By blocking these enzymes, the ointment prevents bacterial cell division and repair, leading to bacterial cell death and resolution of the infection. ​

Usage Instructions:

1. Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the ointment.

2. Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

3. Squeeze a small amount of ointment into this pocket without allowing the tube tip to touch the eye or any other surface to avoid contamination.

4. Close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the ointment to spread over the eye surface.

5. Wipe away any excess ointment from around the eye with a clean tissue.

6. Avoid rubbing your eyes after application.​

• Eye irritation or itching

• Redness or swelling of the eye

• Dry eyes

• Visual disturbances

• Headache

Precautions:

• Avoid wearing contact lenses during the course of treatment.

• Use with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women; consult a doctor before use.

• Use with caution in elderly patients above 65 years of age.

• Do not discontinue use prematurely; complete the full course as prescribed to prevent recurrence of infection.​
