Description

ALMEFKEM D Tablet is a therapeutic combination of Drotaverine (80 mg) and Mefenamic Acid (250 mg), developed by Alkem Laboratories Ltd. This formulation is designed to address abdominal pain and spasms resulting from various gastrointestinal and gynecological conditions.

Mechanism of Action:

• Drotaverine: An antispasmodic agent that works by inhibiting phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4), leading to the relaxation of smooth muscles and alleviation of spasms.

• Mefenamic Acid: An NSAID that exerts its effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation.
