ATOCOR CV 20

Description

Atocor CV 20 is a fixed-dose combination medication that contains:

• Atorvastatin 20 mg – a statin that lowers LDL cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL cholesterol, helping to reduce the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

• Clopidogrel 75 mg – an antiplatelet agent that inhibits platelet aggregation, helping to prevent blood clots which can lead to heart attack or stroke.

This combination is commonly prescribed for patients with:

• Established cardiovascular disease (e.g., previous heart attack, stroke, or peripheral artery disease)

• Acute coronary syndrome (ACS)

• Post-angioplasty or stent placement

• High cardiovascular risk with elevated cholesterol levels

By combining a lipid-lowering agent and an antiplatelet drug, Atocor CV 20 provides dual protection: it prevents the buildup of plaque in arteries and reduces the risk of clot formation. The medication is typically taken once daily, preferably in the evening or as directed by a physician.

Monitoring of lipid levels, liver function, and platelet function may be required during long-term use. Patients should inform their doctor of any bleeding tendencies, surgeries, or other medications (especially NSAIDs or anticoagulants) to avoid complications.
