Description

Bilafav M Tablet is a prescription medication combining Bilastine (20 mg) and Montelukast (10 mg), designed to provide comprehensive relief from allergic conditions.

• Bilastine: A second-generation antihistamine that selectively inhibits histamine H₁ receptors, effectively reducing symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as sneezing, nasal congestion, and itchy or watery eyes.

• Montelukast: A leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks the action of leukotrienes, substances in the body that cause inflammation and constriction of airways, thereby reducing symptoms of asthma and allergic rhinitis.

Uses:

• Management of allergic rhinitis symptoms, including sneezing, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes.

• Prevention and long-term treatment of asthma.

Dosage:

• Typically taken once daily, with or without food.

• Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew, crush, or break.

• For optimal absorption, take at least one hour before or two hours after meals or fruit juice.

Side Effects:

• Common: Headache, cough, abdominal pain, diarrhea, otitis media (ear infection), drowsiness, fatigue, upper respiratory tract infection, fever, sore throat, influenza, runny nose, and sinus inflammation .

• Serious side effects are rare but may include allergic reactions.

Precautions:

• Consult your doctor before use if you have liver or kidney problems, asthma, or a history of mental health conditions.

• Avoid alcohol as it may increase the risk of side effects.
