Medical Uses

1. Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): Cardace AM 5/5 Tablet effectively lowers elevated blood pressure levels, thereby reducing the risk of complications like heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.

2. Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: By managing high blood pressure, this medication helps prevent heart-related complications, especially in individuals with additional risk factors.

 How It Works

• Ramipril (5 mg): An ACE inhibitor that prevents the formation of angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels. By inhibiting this, Ramipril helps relax and widen blood vessels, lowering blood pressure.

• Amlodipine (5 mg): A calcium channel blocker that relaxes the heart muscles and blood vessels, further aiding in reducing blood pressure and improving blood flow.

 Dosage & Administration

• Dosage: As prescribed by your doctor. The initial recommended dose is one tablet of Cardace AM 2.5/5 mg once daily, which may be increased based on the patient’s response. Cardace AM 5/5 mg or Cardace AM 10/5 mg may be used for higher dosing. The maximum permitted daily dose of Ramipril is 10 mg, and the maximum recommended daily dose of Amlodipine is up to 10 mg.

• Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food. It’s advisable to take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.

 Safety & Precautions

• Alcohol: Avoid consuming alcohol as it may enhance the blood pressure-lowering effect and increase the risk of side effects like dizziness.

• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Cardace AM 5/5 Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to potential risks to the developing fetus or infant.

• Driving & Operating Machinery: The medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness; avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.

• Kidney/Liver Disease: Use with caution; dose adjustments may be necessary. Regular monitoring of kidney and liver function is advised.
