Description

Alfoo 10 mg Tablet is manufactured by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd and is indicated for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. BPH is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland that can lead to urinary symptoms such as increased frequency, urgency, and weak urine stream. Alfuzosin, the active ingredient in Alfoo, works by blocking alpha-1 receptors in the smooth muscles of the prostate and bladder neck, leading to muscle relaxation and improved urine flow.

Dosage & Administration:

• Dosage: Typically, one tablet (10 mg) is taken once daily.

• Administration: Take the tablet after a meal, swallowing it whole with a glass of water.

• Note: Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

Precautions:

• Contraindications: Not recommended for individuals with severe liver problems or those who are allergic to alfuzosin or similar medications.

• Caution: Use with caution in patients with kidney issues or low blood pressure.

• Alcohol: Avoid alcohol consumption, as it may exacerbate side effects like dizziness.

Side Effects:

• Common: Dizziness, headache, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain.

• Serious: Orthostatic hypotension (dizziness upon standing), priapism (painful erection), allergic reactions.
