AMLOPRES AT 25MG TABS

Description

Amlopres-AT 25 Tablet is a prescription combination medication used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and chronic stable angina (chest pain). It combines two medications:

• Amlodipine (5 mg) – a calcium channel blocker that dilates blood vessels, reducing peripheral resistance and improving blood flow.

• Atenolol (25 mg) – a beta-blocker that slows the heart rate and reduces the heart’s workload, which helps lower blood pressure and manage heart-related chest pain.

This combination works by reducing both heart rate and vascular resistance, providing a synergistic effect to effectively control blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications like stroke, heart attack, or heart failure.

Amlopres-AT 25 is generally taken once daily, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Patients with asthma, diabetes, or kidney issues should use this medication under close medical supervision due to the beta-blocker component (atenolol).
