Description

Cortel 40 Tablet is indicated for:

• Hypertension Management: Lowers high blood pressure to reduce the risk of heart-related complications.

• Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: Decreases the likelihood of heart attack and stroke.

• Kidney Protection in Diabetes: Helps preserve kidney function in diabetic patients.

Mechanism of Action: Telmisartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels. This blockage leads to the dilation of blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure.

Dosage and Administration: Typically taken once daily, with or without food. It’s important to take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent blood levels.

Side Effects: Common side effects include dizziness, back pain, sinus infection, and diarrhea. Serious side effects may include low blood pressure, elevated potassium levels, and kidney dysfunction.
