Description

AMINOPHYLLINE 25 mg Injection contains aminophylline, a xanthine derivative that acts as a bronchodilator. It is commonly used in hospital settings for:

• Acute asthma exacerbations: To provide rapid relief of bronchospasm.

• COPD exacerbations: To alleviate symptoms and improve airflow.

• Pulmonary edema: To reduce fluid accumulation in the lungs.

• Paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea: To ease breathing difficulties during sleep.

Aminophylline works by inhibiting phosphodiesterase, leading to increased levels of cyclic AMP within smooth muscle cells, resulting in bronchodilation. It also has mild diuretic effects and can improve diaphragmatic contractility.

Dosage and Administration:

• Route of Administration: Intravenous (IV) injection or infusion.
