Description

Composition:

• Amoxicillin (250 mg): A penicillin-type antibiotic that inhibits the synthesis of bacterial cell walls.

• Clavulanic Acid (125 mg): A beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects amoxicillin from degradation by bacterial enzymes.

Common Indications:

Amoxyclav 375mg Tablet is primarily used to manage various bacterial infections, including:

• Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis)

• Urinary tract infections (e.g., cystitis, pyelonephritis)

• Skin and soft tissue infections (e.g., cellulitis, wound infections)

• Bone and joint infections (e.g., osteomyelitis)

• Dental infections

• Intra-abdominal infections

• Prophylaxis for surgical procedures

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults and Children ≥12 years: 1 tablet every 8 hours.

• Children (3 months to 12 years): Dosage based on weight; consult a pediatrician.

Take the tablet with food to enhance absorption and reduce gastrointestinal discomfort. Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew. Complete the full course of treatment as prescribed, even if symptoms improve, to prevent antibiotic resistance.

Side Effects:

Serious side effects are rare but may include:

• Severe allergic reactions (e.g., anaphylaxis)
