Description

Amlopress-TL Tablet is a prescription medication that combines two antihypertensive agents:

• Amlodipine (5 mg) – a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that relaxes and widens blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow.

• Telmisartan (40 mg) – an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that prevents blood vessels from narrowing, helping to lower blood pressure and reduce strain on the heart.

This dual-action therapy is effective for patients who need more than one medication to control hypertension (high blood pressure). It also helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack, especially in patients with other risk factors like diabetes or kidney disease.

Amlopress-TL is typically taken once daily, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. Patients should have their blood pressure monitored regularly and continue taking the medication even if they feel well, as high blood pressure often has no symptoms.
