CLARINOVA SYP

Description

Clarinova Dry Syrup 30 ml is a macrolide antibiotic formulated to combat bacterial infections in pediatric patients. It contains Clarithromycin 125 mg per 5 ml and is indicated for the treatment of infections such as:

• Upper and lower respiratory tract infections

• Otitis media (middle ear infections)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Helicobacter pylori-associated peptic ulcers

Dosage and Administration:

• Preparation: Reconstitute the syrup by adding 35 ml of boiled and cooled water to the bottle containing the dry powder. Shake well until the granules are fully dissolved.

• Dosage: Administer the prescribed dose based on the child’s weight and the severity of the infection.

• Frequency: Typically given twice daily, with or without food.

• Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, administer it as soon as remembered unless it’s almost time for the next dose. Do not double doses.

Common Side Effects:

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Diarrhea

• Abdominal pain

• Headache

• Altered taste

• Skin rash

These side effects are generally mild and may resolve as the body adjusts to the medication. However, if symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare provider.

Precautions:

• Allergy: Do not administer if the child has a known allergy to clarithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics.

• Medical History: Inform the doctor of any history of liver or kidney disease, heart conditions, or gastrointestinal disorders.

• Drug Interactions: Clarithromycin may interact with certain medications, including astemizole, cisapride, pimozide, and others. Consult a healthcare provider before combining with other drugs.
