Description

Mechanism of Action:
Prazosin works by relaxing and dilating blood vessels, which reduces blood pressure and eases the heart’s workload. In BPH, it relaxes smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, facilitating easier urination.

Primary Uses:

• Hypertension: Lowers blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

• Heart Failure: Improves heart function and reduces symptoms of fluid buildup.

• Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Alleviates urinary symptoms associated with prostate enlargement.

• Raynaud’s Disease: Helps in managing symptoms by improving blood flow.

• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): May aid in reducing nightmares and sleep disturbances.

Dosage & Administration:
Biozocin-5 XL is typically taken once daily, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew or crush. Dosage adjustments are based on individual response and medical condition .

Side Effects:

• Common: Dizziness, headache, drowsiness, weakness, palpitations, nausea.

• Serious: Orthostatic hypotension (sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing), priapism (prolonged erection), ankle swelling.

Precautions:

• Alcohol: Avoid consumption, as it may enhance drowsiness and dizziness.

• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor.

• Liver Disease: Use with caution; dose adjustments may be necessary.

• Kidney Disease: Generally safe; however, monitoring is advised.
