Description

Cepodem 50mg Suspension is a pediatric antibiotic formulation containing Cefpodoxime Proxetil (50 mg/5ml). It belongs to the third-generation cephalosporin class of antibiotics and is used primarily in children to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including infections of the ears, throat, lungs, skin, and urinary tract.

The suspension works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell walls, causing the bacteria to die. It is usually administered orally twice a day and should be shaken well before use. Dosing is typically based on the child’s weight and the severity of infection.

Common side effects may include mild diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, or rash. It’s essential to complete the full course as prescribed, even if the child starts feeling better earlier, to prevent resistance.
