Description

Cepodem XP 50 Dry Syrup is a combination antibiotic designed for pediatric use. It comprises:

• Cefpodoxime Proxetil (50 mg): A third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the elimination of the bacteria.

• Clavulanic Acid (31.25 mg): A beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents certain bacteria from resisting the effects of antibiotics, thereby enhancing the efficacy of cefpodoxime.

This combination is effective against a broad spectrum of bacterial infections in children, including:

• Otitis media (middle ear infection)

• Pharyngitis and tonsillitis

• Respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

Dosage and Administration:

• Dosage: As prescribed by a pediatrician, based on the child’s weight and severity of the infection.

• Administration: Shake the bottle well before each use to ensure the medicine is evenly mixed. Use the measuring cup provided to administer the correct dose. The medicine can be given directly or mixed with milk, fruit juice, or baby formula if needed.

• Frequency: Typically administered twice daily.

• Duration: Complete the full course as prescribed, even if symptoms improve earlier, to prevent antibiotic resistance.
