Description

CEFTAS 200MG Tablet is an antibiotic medication that contains Cefixime 200 mg, a broad-spectrum third-generation cephalosporin. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death.

This tablet is commonly prescribed for the treatment of various bacterial infections, such as:

• Respiratory Tract Infections: Including pneumonia and bronchitis.

• Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Affecting the kidneys, bladder, ureter, and urethra.

• Ear Infections: Otitis media.

• Nasal and Sinus Infections: Sinusitis.

• Throat Infections: Tonsillitis and pharyngitis.

• Sexually Transmitted Diseases: Including gonorrhea.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults and Adolescents (12 years and older): The usual dose is 200 mg once daily. For severe infections, the dosage may be increased to 400 mg daily, administered as a single dose or in two divided doses.

• Children (under 12 years): The dosage for children is determined based on their weight, typically 8 mg/kg/day, administered as a single dose or in two divided doses.

Side Effects:

• Dizziness

Serious side effects are rare but may include:

• Allergic reactions (e.g., anaphylaxis)
