Description

Betnovate N Ointment is a prescription-only topical medication manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd. It combines two active ingredients:

• Betamethasone (0.1%): A potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and itching by suppressing the immune response.

• Neomycin (0.5%): An antibiotic that prevents bacterial cell wall formation, inhibiting bacterial growth and aiding in the treatment of bacterial skin infections.

Uses:

Betnovate N Ointment is prescribed for:

• Steroid-responsive inflammatory skin conditions complicated by bacterial infections, such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis.

Dosage and Application:

• Apply a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily, as directed by your healthcare provider.

• Ensure the skin is clean and dry before application.

• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, nose, or mucous membranes.

• Wash hands thoroughly after application, unless the hands are the treated area.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Burning, irritation, itching, or redness at the application site.

• Skin rash.

Less common side effects may include:

• Skin thinning or stretch marks.

• Changes in skin color.

• Increased hair growth.

• Appearance of blood vessels under the skin.
