Description

CellCept is an immunosuppressive medication that inhibits the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes, which are crucial in the body’s immune response. By suppressing these cells, CellCept helps prevent the immune system from attacking a transplanted organ.

Key Uses:

  • Organ Transplantation: Prevents rejection in kidney, heart, or liver transplant recipients.

  • Autoimmune Conditions: Used in certain autoimmune diseases, such as lupus nephritis, to reduce inflammation and organ damage.

Dosage:

  • Typical Adult Dosage: 1 gram (two 500mg tablets) taken twice daily, totaling 2 grams per day.

  • Administration: Taken orally, preferably on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals).

Side Effects:
