  • Active Ingredient: Acenocoumarol 0.5 mg

🩺 Mechanism of Action

Acenocoumarol inhibits vitamin K epoxide reductase, leading to decreased synthesis of clotting factors II, VII, IX, and X, thereby reducing blood clot formation.

🧪 Uses

Acitrom 0.5 mg Tablet is used for:

  • Prevention and treatment of venous thrombosis

  • Management of pulmonary embolism

  • Prevention of embolic events in atrial fibrillation

  • Adjunctive therapy post-coronary occlusion

⚠️ Dosage

  • Initial Dose: 4–12 mg on Day 1

  • Day 2 Dose: 4–8 mg

  • Maintenance Dose: 1–8 mg daily, adjusted based on INR levels
