Description

Akurit 4 Tablet is a prescription medication indicated for the initial intensive phase treatment of active tuberculosis (TB). It combines four first-line anti-TB agents:

• Rifampicin (150 mg) – Bactericidal antibiotic that inhibits bacterial RNA synthesis.

• Isoniazid (75 mg) – Kills actively growing TB bacteria and prevents their multiplication.

• Pyrazinamide (400 mg) – Effective against dormant TB bacteria in acidic environments like within macrophages.

• Ethambutol (275 mg) – Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, reducing bacterial resistance development.

Together, these drugs form a potent combination to eliminate TB bacteria rapidly and reduce the risk of drug resistance.
