Description

Amaryl M Forte 2mg Tablet (10s) is an oral antidiabetic medication that combines two active ingredients:

• Glimepiride (2 mg): A sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin, thereby lowering blood glucose levels.

• Metformin Hydrochloride (1000 mg): A biguanide that decreases glucose production in the liver, delays intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity.

This combination enhances glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly when monotherapy with either glimepiride or metformin is inadequate.

Dosage & Administration: The tablet should be taken once or twice daily with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew. The exact dosage and duration are determined by a healthcare provider based on individual blood glucose levels and response to treatment.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

 Contraindications & Precautions:

Amaryl M Forte 2mg Tablet (10s) is contraindicated in:

• Type 1 diabetes mellitus

• Diabetic ketoacidosis

• Severe renal or hepatic impairment

• Lactic acidosis

• Hypersensitivity to glimepiride, metformin, or any excipients

Precautions:

• Pregnancy: Should be avoided; consult a doctor for alternative treatments.

• Breastfeeding: Not recommended; may be excreted in breast milk.

• Alcohol: Limit consumption; alcohol can increase the risk of lactic acidosis.
