Amaryl MP 1mg Tablet (10s) is a combination antidiabetic medication containing glimepiride (1 mg), metformin hydrochloride (500 mg), and pioglitazone (15 mg). It’s prescribed for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to help control blood sugar levels when diet, exercise, and single-agent therapy are insufficient.
Description
Amaryl MP 1mg Tablet (10s) is an oral antidiabetic medication that combines three active ingredients:
-
Glimepiride (1 mg): A sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin, thereby lowering blood glucose levels.
-
Metformin Hydrochloride (500 mg): A biguanide that decreases glucose production in the liver, delays intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity.
-
Pioglitazone (15 mg): A thiazolidinedione that increases insulin sensitivity in liver, muscle, and fat cells, enabling more effective glucose uptake from the blood.
This combination enhances glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly when monotherapy with either glimepiride, metformin, or pioglitazone is inadequate.
Dosage & Administration: The tablet should be taken once daily with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew. The exact dosage and duration are determined by a healthcare provider based on individual blood glucose levels and response to treatment.
Storage: Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
