AMBRODIL D SYRUP

Description

AMBRODIL-D Syrup is a combination medication used to treat dry (non-productive) cough and upper respiratory tract conditions. It contains:

• Ambroxol Hydrochloride: A mucolytic agent that thins and loosens mucus in the airways, making it easier to cough out.

• Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide: A centrally acting antitussive (cough suppressant) that reduces the cough reflex by acting on the cough center in the brain.

This syrup is particularly useful for dry coughs that don’t produce mucus and are caused by throat irritation, allergies, or viral infections like the common cold.

Uses:

• Dry, irritating cough

• Throat irritation from cold, smoke, or allergens

• Cough due to upper respiratory tract infections

Dosage:

Dosage should be as directed by a physician. Generally:

• Children (above 2 years) and adults: 5 ml, 2–3 times a day.

• Not recommended for children under 2 years unless prescribed by a doctor.

Side Effects:

• Drowsiness

• Dizziness

• Nausea

• Mild gastrointestinal discomfort

• Allergic reactions (rare)

Precautions:

• Avoid alcohol while taking this syrup.

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice.
