AMLOPRES AT TABS

Description

Amlopres-AT Tablet is a prescription fixed-dose combination medication containing:

• Amlodipine (5 mg) – a calcium channel blocker that relaxes and widens blood vessels to lower blood pressure and improve blood flow.

• Atenolol (50 mg) – a beta-blocker that reduces the heart rate and the force of heart contractions, helping to lower blood pressure and reduce the heart’s oxygen demand.

This combination is commonly used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina (chronic chest pain). By combining two different mechanisms of action, Amlopres-AT provides better blood pressure control than either drug alone and helps prevent complications such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage.

The tablet is usually taken once daily, with or without food. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is advised during treatment. It should be used cautiously in people with asthma, bradycardia, or diabetes due to the atenolol component.
