Description

Composition:

• Amlodipine – 5 mg (or higher depending on the specific dosage)

• Atenolol – 50 mg (or higher depending on the specific dosage)

Mechanism of Action:

• Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, which helps lower blood pressure and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood.

• Atenolol is a beta-blocker that reduces the heart’s workload by slowing down the heart rate and reducing the force of heart contractions. This further helps in reducing high blood pressure and in preventing chest pain (angina) and heart attacks.

Together, these two drugs work synergistically to control blood pressure more effectively and prevent cardiovascular events.

Indications:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): Used to lower elevated blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems.

• Angina (Chest Pain): Atenolol helps prevent angina attacks by reducing the heart’s oxygen demand.

• Heart Conditions: It may also be used to manage other cardiovascular conditions, as both drugs support heart function in different ways.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults: Typically, one tablet of AMTAS-AT is taken once daily. The exact dose may depend on individual health needs and the doctor’s prescription.

• It is often recommended to take the tablet with or after food to reduce stomach irritation.

Side Effects:
