₹1,064.00
Apidra SoloStar is a rapid-acting insulin analogue used to control blood sugar levels in adults, adolescents, and children aged 6 years and above with diabetes mellitus. It starts working within 10–20 minutes after subcutaneous injection and has a duration of action of about 4 hours. Apidra is typically administered shortly before or after meals.
Description
Composition: Each pen contains 3 ml of solution, providing 300 Units of insulin glulisine (100 Units/ml).
Mechanism of Action: Insulin glulisine is a recombinant human insulin analogue that facilitates glucose uptake by muscle and fat cells and inhibits glucose production by the liver, thereby lowering blood glucose levels.
Administration: Apidra SoloStar is intended for subcutaneous injection using the pre-filled pen. It should not be used with other pens. The pen is designed for single-patient use only. Before first use, allow the pen to reach room temperature for 1 to 2 hours. Inspect the cartridge before use; it must only be used if the solution is clear, colourless, with no solid particles visible.
Storage: Store unopened pens in a refrigerator (2°C to 8°C). Do not freeze. Keep the pen in the outer carton to protect it from light. After first use, the pen may be stored at room temperature (below 25°C) for up to 4 weeks. Do not store the pen in the refrigerator after first use.
Precautions: Apidra should not be used if you have hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). It should be used with caution in individuals with liver, kidney, or heart disease, as well as in the elderly. Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Always rotate injection sites to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy. Monitor blood glucose levels regularly.
Side Effects: Common side effects include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), injection site reactions (such as redness, itching, or swelling), and allergic reactions. Less common side effects may include lipodystrophy (changes in fat tissue at the injection site). If you experience any unusual symptoms, consult your healthcare provider.
