Description

Aptimust Syrup 200ml is a therapeutic formulation aimed at stimulating appetite and promoting weight gain in individuals with reduced food intake. It is particularly beneficial for those suffering from loss of appetite, undernutrition, or malnutrition.

 Composition

Each 5 ml of Aptimust Syrup contains:

• Cyproheptadine – 2 mg

• Tricholine Citrate – 275 mg

• Sorbitol – 2 g

 Mechanism of Action

• Cyproheptadine: An antihistamine that also inhibits serotonin, a neurotransmitter that suppresses appetite, thereby stimulating hunger.

• Tricholine Citrate: A bile acid-binding agent that helps lower cholesterol levels by promoting the conversion of fats into good cholesterol.

• Sorbitol: Acts as a syrup base and functions as an osmotic laxative, aiding in relieving constipation.

 Indications

Aptimust Syrup is used for:

• Loss of appetite

• Weight loss

• Undernutrition or malnutrition

• As an adjunct in antiretroviral and anti-tubercular therapy to support weight gain

 Side Effects

 Contraindications

Aptimust Syrup should not be used if you:

• Are allergic to cyproheptadine, tricholine citrate, sorbitol, or any other component of the syrup

• Are under 1 year of age

• Have glaucoma or active prostate disease

• Have a history of stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal obstruction

 Dosage Instructions
