Description

Composition:

• Active Ingredient: Aripiprazole 10mg

Uses:

• Treatment of schizophrenia

• Management of manic episodes in bipolar disorder

• Adjunctive treatment for major depressive disorder

• Management of irritability associated with autism spectrum disorder

• Reduction of tics in Tourette’s syndrome

Mechanism of Action:

Aripiprazole stabilizes and blocks dopamine and serotonin receptors in the brain, preventing overactivity. This action helps control both positive symptoms (such as hallucinations and delusions) and negative symptoms (like social withdrawal and lack of emotion) of schizophrenia.

Dosage and Administration:

• Take as prescribed by your doctor.

• May be taken with or without food.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew.

• Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it may worsen the condition or cause withdrawal symptoms.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Drowsiness

• Headache

• Tiredness

• Akathisia (inability to sit still)

• Difficulty sleeping

• Light-headedness

• Indigestion

• Children: Not recommended for children under 15 years of age.
