Description

Asthalin Inhaler (100 mcg) is a metered-dose inhaler (MDI) containing Salbutamol sulfate as the active ingredient. Each metered dose delivers 100 mcg of Salbutamol (85 mcg ex-actuator). It is used for the relief and prevention of bronchospasm associated with conditions like asthma and COPD.

Mechanism of Action: Salbutamol is a short-acting β₂-adrenergic agonist that relaxes the smooth muscles of the airways, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow.

Dosage:

• Adults and Children ≥4 years: 1–2 puffs as needed for relief of acute bronchospasm; up to 8 puffs in 24 hours.

• Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm: 2 puffs 15–30 minutes before exercise.

• Maintenance treatment: 1–2 puffs every 4–6 hours as prescribed by a healthcare provider.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Tremors

• Headache

• Palpitations

• Increased heart rate

• Muscle cramps

• Nervousness

Less common but serious side effects can involve chest pain, severe dizziness, or allergic reactions. Consult a doctor if any adverse effects persist or worsen.
