Description
Astymin-3 Injection (200 ml) is a 9% crystalline amino acid solution formulated to provide essential and semi-essential amino acids, glycine, and sorbitol. Each milliliter contains:

Indications:
Astymin-3 is indicated for:
-
Surgical Conditions: Pre and post-operative states, burns (first and second degree), trauma, fractures, gastrointestinal surgeries, peritonitis, and chronic draining wounds.

Medical Conditions: Malabsorption syndromes, ulcerative colitis, regional enteritis, small bowel syndrome, and cancer-related cachexia.

Other Conditions: Stroke, persistent pyrexial states, metabolic disturbances, and renal failure with marginally raised blood nitrogen levels.
Dosage & Administration:

Adults: 200–800 ml intravenously per day, as prescribed by a healthcare professional.

Children: 0.20–0.25 g of nitrogen per kg body weight.

Drip Rate: Start at 15–20 drops per minute, increasing to 30–40 drops per minute as tolerated.
To meet energy requirements, simultaneous infusion of 5% or 10% dextrose is recommended.
Precautions:

Monitor for signs of intolerance and renal losses if infusion rate is too rapid.

Adjust dosage in patients with renal or hepatic impairments.

Use under medical supervision in pediatric patients.
