Description

Atocor 80 mg Tablet contains Atorvastatin 80 mg, a potent statin that works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol production in the liver. This results in a significant reduction in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or “bad cholesterol” and triglycerides, while slightly increasing high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or “good cholesterol.”

Atocor 80 mg is typically prescribed for patients who require aggressive cholesterol management and are at high risk for cardiovascular disease. It is commonly used for:

• Severe hypercholesterolemia (very high LDL cholesterol levels)

• Mixed dyslipidemia (elevated LDL and triglycerides)

• Prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with a history of heart disease, stroke, or those at high risk due to conditions like diabetes, hypertension, or metabolic syndrome.
