Description

Atocor F Tablet is a lipid-lowering combination medication containing:

• Atorvastatin – a statin that lowers LDL cholesterol (“bad cholesterol”) and triglycerides, while modestly increasing HDL cholesterol (“good cholesterol”).

• Fenofibrate – a fibrate that primarily reduces triglycerides and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), and also helps increase HDL levels.

This combination is particularly useful in treating patients with mixed dyslipidemia, where both cholesterol and triglyceride levels are elevated, and in those with diabetes, metabolic syndrome, or high cardiovascular risk.

Indications:

• Mixed hyperlipidemia

• Severe hypertriglyceridemia

• High LDL with high triglycerides

• Cardiovascular risk reduction in patients needing comprehensive lipid control

The dual mechanism offers a synergistic effect on lipid profile improvement. Atocor F is generally taken once daily, with or after food, and patients are advised to maintain a low-fat diet and exercise routine alongside therapy.

Monitoring: Regular checks of lipid levels, liver function, and creatine kinase (CK) may be recommended, as both agents can rarely cause liver dysfunction or muscle-related side effects, especially when used together.
