BETOACT EYE DROP (5ml)

Description

Betoact Eye Drops (5ml) are a prescription ophthalmic solution containing betaxolol hydrochloride, a cardioselective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker. This medication is primarily used to lower elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in individuals with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, helping to prevent optic nerve damage and vision loss.

Betaxolol works by reducing the production of aqueous humor (the fluid in the eye), thereby lowering IOP. It is preferred in some cases over non-selective beta-blockers due to a lower risk of systemic side effects, particularly in patients with respiratory issues such as asthma or COPD.

Dosage & Use: Typically, one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, or as directed by an ophthalmologist.
Precautions: Not recommended for patients with severe bradycardia, heart block, or overt cardiac failure. Use with caution in patients with diabetes, myasthenia gravis, or pulmonary disorders.
