Uses:

• Treatment of allergic rhinitis, including symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes.

• Management of chronic urticaria, alleviating itching and hives.

Dosage and Administration:

• Recommended dose: One tablet (20 mg) once daily.

• Administration: Take on an empty stomach, either one hour before or two hours after meals.

• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not chew or crush.

Side Effects:

• Common side effects may include:

  • Headache

  • Drowsiness

  • Nasal irritation (rhinitis)

  • Eye irritation (allergic conjunctivitis)

  • Abdominal pain

• Uncommon side effects may include:

  • Dizziness, fatigue, increased appetite, nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, irregular heartbeat, increased weight, anxiety, dry mouth, gastritis, vertigo, dyspnea, skin reactions (eczema, urticaria), cold sores, fever, tinnitus, insomnia, lip swelling, and loss of consciousness.

• Rare but serious side effects:

  • Allergic reactions (e.g., difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat)

  • Heart problems (e.g., irregular heartbeat, fainting)

Precautions:

• Avoid consuming fruit juices (e.g., grapefruit, orange, apple) around the time of taking the medication, as they may reduce its effectiveness.

• Use with caution in individuals with kidney impairment; consult your doctor for appropriate dosage adjustments.

• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting the medication.

• Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery if you experience drowsiness or dizziness.
