Description

Mechanism of Action:

• Bisoprolol: Slows the heart rate and reduces the force of each heartbeat, leading to a decrease in blood pressure and heart workload.

• Telmisartan: Blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels, thereby relaxing and widening them to lower blood pressure.

Primary Uses:

• Hypertension: Lowers blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.

• Heart Failure: Improves heart function and reduces symptoms in patients with chronic heart failure.

• Angina: Relieves chest pain by improving blood flow to the heart muscle.

• Post-Heart Attack Recovery: Supports recovery and reduces the risk of future cardiac events.

Dosage & Administration:

• Recommended Dose: Typically, 1 tablet once daily, preferably at the same time each day.

• Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not chew or crush.

• With or Without Food: Can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects:

• Common: Headache, dizziness, cold extremities, slow heart rate, numbness of extremities, weakness, decreased blood pressure, increased potassium levels in blood.

• Serious: Severe hypotension, bradycardia, electrolyte imbalances.

Precautions:

• Alcohol: Avoid consumption, as it may enhance side effects like dizziness and drowsiness.

• Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before use; the medication may pose risks to the fetus or infant.

• Kidney & Liver Disease: Use with caution; dose adjustments may be necessary.

• Discontinuation: Do not abruptly stop taking the medication without consulting your doctor, as it can cause a sudden increase in blood pressure.
