Description

Brevipil 100 mg Tablet is an anticonvulsant medication containing Brivaracetam 100 mg, used to treat partial-onset seizures in individuals with epilepsy. It can be used alone or in combination with other antiepileptic drugs.

Mechanism of Action:

Brivaracetam binds to synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A), inhibiting the release of excitatory neurotransmitters and stabilizing electrical activity in the brain, thereby preventing seizures.

Dosage and Administration:

• Dosage: As prescribed by a healthcare provider.

• Administration: Take orally with or without food.

• Missed Dose: Take as soon as remembered, unless it’s near the time for the next dose. Do not double doses.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Dizziness

• Drowsiness

• Nausea

• Fatigue

• Irritability

• Restlessness

• Double vision

• Sleepiness

• Shakiness and unsteady walk

• Uncontrolled eye movements

Precautions:

• Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase side effects.

• Use with caution in patients with liver disease; dosage adjustments may be necessary.

• Not recommended for patients with end-stage renal disease due to lack of clinical trial data.
