BRINOLAR EYE DROP

Description

Brinolar Eye Drop is manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd and is indicated for the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in conditions such as open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

Mechanism of Action:

Brinzolamide inhibits the enzyme carbonic anhydrase II, leading to decreased bicarbonate production and reduced aqueous humor secretion. This results in lowered intraocular pressure.

Dosage and Administration:

• Recommended Dose: 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, or as prescribed by your doctor.

• Administration:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly.

  2. Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid to form a pocket.

  3. Instill the prescribed number of drops into the pocket.

  4. Close your eye and press gently on the inner corner for about 1-2 minutes to prevent drainage.

  5. Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.

Precautions:

• Pregnancy: Consult your doctor before use; safety during pregnancy has not been established.

• Breastfeeding: Not recommended; brinzolamide may pass into breast milk.

• Children: Not recommended for use in children under 18 years.

• Contact Lenses: Remove soft contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.

• Kidney or Liver Impairment: Use with caution; consult your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems.
