Description

Composition:

• Active Ingredient: Buspirone Hydrochloride 5 mg

Mechanism of Action:
Buspirone is an anxiolytic medication that affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with anxiety. It is not chemically related to other anxiolytics such as benzodiazepines, barbiturates, or sedatives. Buspirone is thought to work by binding to serotonin and dopamine receptors in the brain, leading to its anxiolytic effects.

Indications:

• Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

• Short-term relief of anxiety symptoms

Dosage:

• Adults: Typically, the starting dose is 5 mg taken two to three times daily. Your doctor may adjust the dose based on your response and tolerance. The usual dose ranges from 15 mg to 60 mg per day, divided into multiple doses.

Side Effects:

• Common side effects may include dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, headache, nervousness, lightheadedness, and excitement.

• Serious side effects are rare but can include chest pain, confusion, restlessness, blurred vision, diarrhea, dry mouth, ringing in the ears, and sweating.

Precautions:

• Buspin 5mg Tablets are not recommended for use in pregnant women as not enough studies have been done to understand its safety and efficacy. Consult with your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant.

• It is not known whether Buspin 5mg Tablets pass into breast milk or if they could harm a nursing baby. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding before using this medicine.

• Avoid taking Buspin 5mg Tablets if you have a known allergy to buspirone or any of the tablet’s components.

• Use caution when combining with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or other medications that affect serotonin levels.
