Description

Composition:

• Telmisartan: 40 mg

• Chlorthalidone: 12.5 mg

Uses:

• Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension)

• Reduction in the risk of heart attack and stroke

• Prevention of fluid retention (edema)

How It Works:

• Telmisartan: Relaxes blood vessels by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels.

• Chlorthalidone: Increases urine production, helping the body eliminate excess salt and water, thereby reducing blood volume and lowering blood pressure.

Dosage:

• Take one tablet daily, with or without food.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not chew or crush.

• Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding dosage and duration.

Side Effects:

• Common: Dizziness, headache, fatigue, nausea, and diarrhea.

• Serious: Low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalances, kidney dysfunction, and allergic reactions.

Precautions:

• Avoid alcohol consumption, as it may enhance the blood pressure-lowering effect.
