CANDID EAR DROPS

Description

Candid Ear Drops are manufactured by Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd and are primarily used to treat superficial fungal infections of the external ear canal, such as otomycosis. The active ingredients work synergistically to provide relief:

• Clotrimazole (1%): An antifungal agent that disrupts the cell membrane of fungi, leading to their death and thereby treating the infection.

• Lignocaine (2%): A local anesthetic that blocks nerve signals in the affected area, providing temporary relief from pain and itching.

Indications:

• Treatment of fungal ear infections (otomycosis).

• Alleviation of pain and itching associated with ear infections.

Dosage and Administration:

• Lie down with the affected ear facing upwards.

• Instill the prescribed number of drops into the ear without touching the dropper to the ear.

• Remain in the same position for 2–3 minutes to allow the medication to reach the base of the ear canal.

• Repeat the process for the other ear if needed.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include:

• Burning or stinging sensation at the application site.

• Ear discomfort or irritation.

These side effects are generally mild and transient. If they persist or worsen, consult a healthcare provider.

Precautions:

• For external use only; avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes.

• Do not use if allergic to Clotrimazole, Lignocaine, or any other components of the formulation.
