Description

Carispec 1.5 Capsule is manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. Each capsule contains 1.5 mg of Cariprazine, an atypical antipsychotic agent.

Mechanism of Action

Cariprazine acts as a partial agonist at dopamine D₂ and D₃ receptors, with a higher affinity for D₃ receptors. This selective activity helps in balancing dopamine levels in the brain, which is crucial for mood regulation and cognitive functions.

Common Side Effects

• Headache

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Nausea or vomiting

• Sleep disturbances (insomnia or drowsiness)

• Weight gain

• Muscle stiffness or tremors

• Dry mouth

• Constipation

Precautions

Dosage and Administration

• Missed Dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it’s almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.

• Discontinuation: Do not stop taking Carispec without consulting your doctor, as abrupt discontinuation can lead to withdrawal symptoms or worsening of the condition.

Interactions

• Alcohol: Avoid consumption, as it may increase the risk of side effects like dizziness and drowsiness.
