Description

Composition:

  • Cefixime (200 mg): An antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death.

  • Lactobacillus (60 million spores): A probiotic that helps restore the natural balance of gut bacteria, reducing the risk of diarrhea associated with antibiotic use.

Mechanism of Action:

  • Cefixime: Inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, leading to cell lysis and death.

  • Lactobacillus: Replenishes beneficial gut bacteria, counteracting the disruptive effects of antibiotics on intestinal flora.

Indications:

Cefinex-LB Tablet is prescribed for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including:

  • Upper and lower respiratory tract infections

  • Urinary tract infections

  • Gastrointestinal infection

  • Ear infections (otitis media)

  • Throat infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis)

Dosage and Administration:

  • Dosage: Typically, one tablet twice daily (morning and evening), or as prescribed by the healthcare provider.

  • Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush or chew.

  • With or Without Food: Can be taken with or without food. However, taking it with food may reduce the risk of stomach upset.
