Description

Composition:

• Active Ingredient: Ciprofloxacin 0.3% w/v

Indications:

Cifran Eye/Ear Drops are prescribed for:

• Ophthalmic Use:

  • Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye)

  • Corneal ulcers

  • Post-operative eye infections

• Otic Use:

  • Otitis externa (outer ear canal infections)

  • Otitis media (middle ear infections)

  • Prevention of ear infections post-surgery

Dosage and Administration:

• For Eye Infections:

  • Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye every 4 hours for the first 2 days, then reduce frequency as advised by your healthcare provider.

• For Ear Infections:

  • Instill 3–4 drops into the affected ear twice daily, or as directed by your doctor.

Common Side Effects:

• Temporary eye discomfort or burning

• Redness or itching of the eye

• Dryness or watery eyes

• A bitter taste in the mouth

• Ear discomfort or itching

Serious Side Effects:

• Severe allergic reactions (rash, swelling, difficulty breathing)

• Persistent eye or ear pain

• Vision changes

• Hearing loss or ringing in the ears

Precautions:

• Avoid using contact lenses during treatment unless approved by your doctor.

• Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.

• Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• Use with caution in patients with a history of ear surgery.
