CILACAR TC 12.5 TABS

Description

Composition:

• Telmisartan (40 mg): Blocks angiotensin II receptors, preventing blood vessel constriction.

• Cilnidipine (10 mg): Inhibits calcium influx in vascular smooth muscles, leading to vasodilation.

• Chlorthalidone (12.5 mg): A diuretic that helps eliminate excess salt and water, reducing blood volume.

Indications:

• Management of essential hypertension (high blood pressure).

• Reducing the risk of cardiovascular events like strokes and heart attacks.

Dosage & Administration:

• Dosage: As prescribed by your physician.

• Administration: Take with food, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew.

• Note: Due to the diuretic component, it’s advisable to take the tablet at least 4 hours before bedtime to prevent nocturnal urination.

Common Side Effects:

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Headache

• Fatigue

• Increased urination

• Swelling of ankles or feet

• Nausea or stomach upset

Serious Side Effects:

• Severe hypotension (very low blood pressure)

• Electrolyte imbalances (e.g., low potassium levels)

• Kidney dysfunction

• Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling)

Precautions:

• Pregnancy: Not recommended, especially after the first trimester, due to potential harm to the fetus.

• Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before use.

• Kidney/Liver Impairment: Use with caution; dosage adjustments may be necessary.

• Driving/Operating Machinery: May cause dizziness; avoid such activities until you know how the medication affects you.
