Description

CIPRO 100 ml Injection, manufactured by Albert David Ltd., contains Ciprofloxacin 200 mg per 100 ml. Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, thereby preventing bacterial cell division and growth.

Indications:

• Respiratory Tract Infections: Such as pneumonia and bronchitis.

• Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Including cystitis and pyelonephritis.

• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Such as cellulitis.

• Bone and Joint Infections: Including osteomyelitis.

• Gastrointestinal Infections: Such as infectious diarrhea.

• Intra-abdominal Infections: Including peritonitis.

• Anthrax Exposure: Post-exposure prophylaxis and treatment.

Dosage and Administration:

• Administered intravenously by a healthcare professional.

• Dosage depends on the type and severity of the infection, patient’s age, weight, and renal function.

• Typically infused over 60 minutes to reduce the risk of venous irritation.

Side Effects:
