CLAVAM DRY SYP

Description

Clavam Dry Syrup is a pediatric antibiotic formulation composed of Amoxicillin and Clavulanic Acid. It is available as a dry powder that needs to be reconstituted with water to form an oral suspension. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-class antibiotic that kills bacteria by inhibiting cell wall synthesis, while Clavulanic Acid acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, helping Amoxicillin work against resistant bacteria. This combination makes Clavam Dry Syrup effective against a wide range of infections, including respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia), otitis media (middle ear infection), sinusitis, urinary tract infections, and skin or soft tissue infections in children.

It should be administered with food to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal discomfort. Dosage depends on the child’s body weight and severity of infection and must be determined by a pediatrician. The syrup should be refrigerated after reconstitution and used within the period mentioned on the label (usually 7–10 days).
