Description

Coligyl DS Dry Syrup is a prescription-only antibiotic formulated to combat severe bacterial infections in children, particularly those affecting the gastrointestinal tract. The active ingredient, Colistin Sulphate, is a polypeptide antibiotic that works by disrupting the bacterial cell membrane, leading to bacterial cell death. It is effective against infections caused by bacteria resistant to other antibiotics.

Key Uses:

• Treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by susceptible gram-negative bacteria.

• Management of infectious diarrhea, including conditions like bloody diarrhea.

• Bowel sterilization before certain surgeries.

Dosage & Administration:

• Reconstitution: Mix the dry powder with the provided sterile water up to the ring mark on the bottle. Shake well until a uniform suspension is formed.

• Dosage: Administer as per the pediatrician’s prescription, based on the child’s weight and severity of the infection.

• Storage: Store the reconstituted syrup in a cool place below 15°C and use within 7 days.
