Mechanism of Action:
Deflazacort is a corticosteroid that increases glucocorticoid levels in the body. It works by decreasing the formation of substances that cause inflammation and suppresses immune responses to prevent self-damage in conditions like autoimmune diseases and organ transplants.

Uses:

• Treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy

• Management of rheumatoid arthritis

• Control of asthma and allergic conditions

• Treatment of autoimmune diseases

• Suppression of the immune system post organ transplantation

Dosage:

• Adults and children over 2 years: Typically administered once daily.

• Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Food: Can be taken with or without food.

• Missed Dose: Take as soon as remembered, but skip if it’s near the time for the next dose. Do not double doses.

Side Effects:

• Increased appetite and weight gain

• Frequent urination

• Cough and upper respiratory tract infections

• Abnormal hair growth

• Obesity and nasopharyngitis

• Cushing syndrome (with prolonged use)

• Increased risk of infections

Precautions:
